PORTLAND, Ore. - 13th Ranked Eastern Oregon stayed perfect in CCC play with a 80-72 win over Warner Pacific tonight in Portland.
The visiting Mountaineers (15-2, 9-0 CCC) owned the 1st quarter, outscoring 22-9. EOU enjoyed a 43-27 lead at halftime, with Jane Nelson doing the most damage with 11 points.
EOU then had to hold off a hard-charging Knights team that cut the EOU lead down to 7 points in the 4th quarter.
Bailey Allen came alive with 10 points and 6 steals after the break, with
Deepika Kapil adding 8 counters and 5 rebounds.
WP forced 12 turnovers in the second half which aided the comeback attempt.
Maryah Tipping made two free throws for the Knights in the final minute to make the score 79-72, but it was WP's last gasp as the Mounties held on for the win.
Bailey Allen finished with 19 points and 7 steals to lead Warner Pacific (9-7, 5-4 CCC).
