COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. - Warner Pacific earned a pair of Cascade Conference wins over the weekend, defeating Walla Walla University in back-to-back contests on the road.
Game one saw the Knights establish a new record for points allowed in a game, as WP took the first matchup 72-28. The Knight defense held the host Wolves to 19 percent shooting (8 of 41) and forced 28 turnovers.Â
Deepika Kapil led the way with 17 points and 6 rebounds.
Mya Kirzy contributed a career best 8 rebounds.Â
Game two was much closer, with Walla Walla finding some offensive attack. WPU managed to build an 18 point lead at halftime, but WWU played a strong 3rd quarter and cut the gap to 13. The Knights regained the momentum however, and led by as many as 24 by the end of the final period.
Kendyl Cone was the top scorer for WP, hitting 6 of 8 shots and finishing with 14 points.
Grace Prom added 12 points by making 4 three pointers.Â
