Knights Fall to Panthers, Back In Action Saturday

Portland, Ore. | (2-5) Warner Pacific fell to NCAA Division III Chapman University (3-2) 68-89 on Monday night.
 
Gabriella Bruno and Courtney Jackson led the Knights in scoring with 15 a piece. Kali Kruger was productive on the night with 10 rebounds and 3 blocks.
 
The Knights came out hot, pressing the Panthers and forcing Chapman to take a timeout just 20-seconds into the game. The Knights remained in the lead, and with the shot clock winding down, Mya Kirzy banked in a 30-footer and WPU led by 8 with two minutes remaining in the first quarter. In the last 120 seconds, the Panthers clawed their way back, making it a one-point Knight lead at the end of Q1.
 
Chapman then opened up the second quarter with a 7-0 run then continuing to break open the lead. Going into half, the Panthers led the Knights by 13.
 
The second half remained in the CU's control as the Panthers managed to open the lead up to 20 with just under 30-seconds to play in Q3 and broke open a 24-point lead in the 4th quarter as they closed out the 89-68 victory.
 
Chapman's Julianna Campas led all scorers with 21.
 
The Knights will take a break for the Thanksgiving Holiday and be back in action at Lewis & Clark College on Saturday November 30th. Tip-off is set for 1pm.
