Knights Remain Undefeated at Home; Strickland Scores Career-High

Portland, Ore. | Warner Pacific held off a late second-half Wolves surge to seal the 73-61 victory over Walla Walla on Saturday night.

Kadeem Strickland led the Knights in scoring with 27, a Season and WPU Career-high for the Junior out of Portland. Strickland shot 5-6 from the free throw line. He was followed by Miles Brown in scoring with 14.

The Wolves came out firing, taking and holding a lead over the Knights for eight minutes before a Miles Brown and-one to tie the game at 12. The Knights then took and maintained the lead from the 10:32 minute mark in the first half. Walla Walla continued to fight, closing the lead to 6 at half-time.

Warner Pacific opened up the second half with a 12-minute 23-second 20-0 run before WWU got on the board with a couple of free throws from Zayne Browning. With 8-minutes left to play, it was a 23-point WPU lead.

The Wolves responded with a 10-0 run themselves, making it a 13-point game with four minutes to play. After an exchange of buckets from each team, the Wolves had crept up, trailing by only eight points. The Knights scored six straight points from the free-throw line to seal the victory.

Walla Walla's KiAndre Gaddy had himself a game with 26 points and 19 boards.

With the win, the Knights are 5-0 at home this season and move to 8-5 and 4-1 in the CCC. They will open up the 2020 year with a home contest against Southern Oregon on Friday January 3rd. Tip-off is set for 7:30pm.
