La Grande, Ore. | Warner Pacific (3-7, 0-2 CCC) dropped the second game of CCC opening weekend to the No. 17 Mountaineers of Eastern Oregon (8-4, 2-0 CCC) on Saturday night 65-77.

Gabriella Bruno had her first double-double of the season, finding the bottom of the net for 15 points and bringing down 10 rebounds. Two other Knights ended the night in double figures;
Courtney Jackson with 14 points and
Gennah Schoen with 13.

The first half came to a close with the Knights trailing by 18 points, 31-49.
Courtney Jackson, who made her way into the starting lineup last night, led the Knights at half with 11 points. The kryptonite for WPU this evening was EOU Senior Guard Jane Nelson, who headed into the locker room at half with 22 points of her own.

Warner Pac's game plan to make someone other than Austen beat them worked in their favor, keeping her to only 6 second-half points. Despite the shutting down of Austen, the Mounties continued their offensive run leaving the Knights to trail 20 with 6 minutes to play in the game. Warner Pac continued to fight in the fourth quarter, closing the gap to 12 to finish the game.

Despite the loss, the Knights shared the ball well; dishing out 13 assists on their 22 made field goals.

The Knights will have a week off of CCC play and instead travel to Seattle for an exhibition game against Seattle University on Saturday, December 14
th before hosting cross-town rival Multnomah on Tuesday, December 17
th. Saturday's tip-off is set for 2pm and Tuesdays for 5:30.
