Celebration! WPU Wins on Senior Night

PORTLAND, Ore. - Four Warner Pacific players reached double figure scoring, pushing the Knights to a comfortable win over Evergreen on senior night, 93-58.

The host Knights started slowly, with an energized Geoduck team looking to play spoiler. The visitors were withing 4 points (22-26) with seven minutes to play in the first half, but WPU scored eight straight to take control. Later, Morris Bethea hit a 15 footer at the halftime buzzer to give the Knights a 40-27 lead at the break.

The hosts owned the second half thanks to 61 percent shooting from the field including an 8 of 14 effort from the three point line. Evergreen couldn't match the offensive output, hitting just 40 percent from the floor after halftime.

Collin Malcolm wrapped up his final game at Bart Valentine Court with 24 points and 10 rebounds, and he was helped by 11 points from Morris Bethea.

Evergreen was paced by Malik Redmond's 18 points. Ryan Quigley scored 12, pushing him over 1000 points for his career.

The result puts the Knights in the CCC Playoffs as the #7 seed, and will travel to #2 seed College of Idaho. The quarterfinal matchup will take place on Wednesday, February 20 in Caldwell.

WP seniors Malcolm, Brandon Rowden, Terrance Wienecke, Ryan Dethlefs, Khiry Williams, and Brandon Bell were honored before the game.
