Season Ends for WP Women at Oregon Tech

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. –  A cold-shooting first half by Warner Pacific was the opening that Oregon Tech needed to post a 79-62 victory over the Knights in the CCC Quarterfinals presented by U.S. Bank at Danny Miles Court.

Tech opened the game with a 16-3 run in the first quarter and a 14-3 in the second to end the half with a 40-20 lead that proved insurmountable.

Though the Knights made a 15-2 run in the 4th period that closed the gap to 10 points, the surge was turned aside by 12-0 response by the Owls.

The Knights shooting suffered in the first half as they ended made just 4 of 25 attempts from the field. The second half was slightly better at 11 of 30, but the damage had been done. WP did make 26 of 33 tries from the free throw line, but it was nullified by a 27 of 36 effort from Oregon Tech.

Bailey Allen led Warner Pacific in scoring with 12 points, shooting 8-for-10 from the charity stripe. Emily Peters and Gabriella Bruno followed with eight points each, and Deepika Kapil added six points and grabbed five rebounds.

Freshman Kristin Farrell scored a career high 19 points – shooting 5-for-9 from long range – and freshman Courtney Clemmer scored 21 to tie her own career high as they led the #20 ranked Lady Owls (23-8) to their 13th win in a row.

WPU forced 18 turnovers while only committing 15 of their own but were outscored 15-9 by OIT in points off turnovers.
