WP Women Fall to Corban

PORTLAND, Ore. - Corban used a big 2nd quarter to establish a lead, then held off a late charge from Warner Pacific to keep pace in the CCC standings. The final score was 75-72.

The host Knights led by one (17-16) after the 1st quarter, but Corban put their stamp on the game in the 2nd stanza. The visitors from Salem outscored WP 28-15 to build a lead that would hold up for the rest of the game.

Warner Pacific made a game of it however, by cranking up the pressure and taking advantage of a few Warrior miscues. Bailey Allen came alive after halftime with 13 points, helping WPU cut the gap from 16 points in the 4th quarter all the way down to 3 at the final buzzer. The comeback fell just short however, and Corban escaped Portland with the important league win.

Jordan Woodvine scored 22 to lead the visiting Warriors, and Treasure Farmer made 5 of 9 tries from three point range to add 17 points.

Allen finished with 17 points, while Deepika Kapil chipped in with 16 points and 7 rebounds.
