Knights Volleyball Drops A 0-3 Match To Corban

Portland, Ore. | Warner Pacific hosted Corban in a Cascade Collegiate Conference matchup on Saturday night. The Warriors defeated the Knights in three sets, 25-17, 26-24, 25-10.
 
The first set went to the Warriors, who went on a 5-0 run to go up by seven, which ultimately led them to their 25-17 victory. In set two, with six lead changes, the Knights came out with vengeance, vowing not to let Corban get an easy three, kicking their defense into gear with the help of Jr. Matalasi Laban, the Knights were able to take the Warriors to the end, forcing them to win 26-24.
 
Fatigue seemed to set in for Warner Pacific in the third set, as the Warriors were able to hit their way through the WPU defense, ending the match in a quick 25-10 victory.
 
The Warriors, coming off of a 7-game win streak, hit for .294 on the night versus the .124 hitting percentage for Warner Pacific.. Corban's Avari Ridgway led all players with 17 kills and a .500 hitting percentage.
 
For the second game in a row, Grace Buchanan led Warner Pacific with 11 kills and the defensive line was backed by Matalasi Laban's 12 digs.
 
The Knights will travel to College Place on Thursday night to face the Wolves of Walla Walla University. The match is set for 7 PM.
