Knights Season Ends in Ashland

Ashland, Ore. | Warner Pacific's 2019-20 Basketball season came to an end in the first round of the CCC Tournament in a loss to Southern Oregon. The Knights fell to the Raiders 65-82 in the contest.

This was the third time that the Knights and the Raiders have met this year.

Warner Pacific battled in the first half, keeping it close throughout. The Raiders took a lead as large as 11 at one point within the first half but the Knights managed to claw and fight their way back. With back-to-back buckets from senior Morris Bethea, the Knights had come within four points with just under five minutes to go.

As the Raiders continued to find ways to score and take a 10-point lead but with thirty seconds remaining, Kadeem Strickland splashed a 24-footer to head into halftime with a seven point deficit.

Coming out of the break, the contest remained within 10-points as the teams exchanged buckets back and forth. At the 14:17 mark, the Raiders led by 8-points but then proceeded to go on a 9-0 run and jump out to a 17-point lead before KJ Bosco went to the Free-Throw line to score two of his team high 16 points.

The Knights ultimately gave up back-to-back-to-back Raider 23-footers, which proved to be the icing of the game. Warner Pac was never quite able to find the momentum needed for the comeback and fell to SOU as their season came to an end.

KJ Bosco led the Knights with 16 points, coming just one board shy of a double-double, Bosco shot 6-6 from the charity stripe. Following him was Kadeem Strickland with 15 points and three assists.

Warner Pac forced 13 SOU turnovers.

The Knights finished the season with a 14-16 overall and 9-11 conference record.
