Roe Hits Grand Slam; Knights Fall to Saint Martin's

Portland, Ore. | The Knights are still desperately in search of a win after two losses to NCAA Division II opponent Saint Martin's on Tuesday night. With the bases loaded, two outs and two strikes in the second inning of game two, Warner Pacific's Rebekah Roe hit the ball beyond the boundary for her first grand slam of the season. It was her only at-bat of the game.

After a weekend of strong hitting by the Knights, SMU threw nearly a no-hitter in the first game, allowing WPU to get only four hits and zero runs in seven innings. All the while, the Knights gave up nine hits and four runs to the Saints.

As has been the story late, Warner Pacific lost steam in game two, giving up 11 runs on 16 hits. This time, Warner Pac was able to cross home plate per the grand slam by Rebekah Roe mentioned earlier. After that, however, the Knights were shut out and allowed at least one hit in each of the 4th thru 7th innings.

Saint Martin's closed out the non-conference double-header with an 11-4 victory.

Rebekah Roe's 4 RBI, grand slam was the only hit for a run for Warner Pac on the day. The junior out of Pilot Rock, Oregon leads the team in all batting categories; 14 RBI's, .429 batting percentage and .730 slugging percentage.

The Knights will host the Lady Owls of Oregon Tech on Friday in day one of a two-day, four-game series to resume Cascade Collegiate Conference play. The first pitch is scheduled for 2pm, respectively.
