Salem, Ore. | Unable to sustain any consistency tonight was the Warner Pacific University Women's Volleyball team (1-17, 1-14), who fell to the #5 Corban University Warriors (21-1, 15-1) in straight sets, 12-25, 14-25, 12-25.
A relatively quiet night for both teams on the stat sheet resulted in the Warriors picking up their 21
st win of the season, and inching one-step closer to clinching the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) crown. Warner Pacific's young core has continued to grow from their learning opportunities, and develop the skill training and conference exposure they will need to find success in the CCC for years to come.
The most notable achievement of the evening came from the Warriors side of the court, as they held WPU to a negative overall kill% thanks to 20 total blocking plays in route to their series sweep. Outside hitter Rylee Troutman was the only student-athlete tonight to attain double-digit stats in any category with 11 kills on 17 attempts.
Knights' outside hitter
Grace Buchanan added 9 more kills to her conference leading kills category, now averaging 4.42 kills per set on the season. She holds a 16 kill lead over the second placer runner up, who just so happens to be Corban's Troutman.
A quick turnaround awaits the Warner Pacific Women's Volleyball team, as the final rivalry battle of the season will go down this coming Tuesday, October 19
th, starting at 7pm PST at Multnomah University's Jim Skagen Court in Portland, Ore.
