The Rundown
The Wildcats scored two first-half goals in Friday's non-conference matchup. Knight's newcomer Sophie Painter kicked off the season attacking the defense, attempting a nice shot that was saved by the Wildcat's keeper, Madi Reimer. While the Knights came back with an aggressive effort after the break, the Wildcats proceeded to add on two more goals in the second half.

As Warner had trouble generating offense throughout the match, the home team seemed able of finding their groove offensively early and often. Although Knight's keeper Isabell Bauer went on to have herself a game with 10 saves.

"First game back in over a year. It was a joy to watch the players finally play in a game. We have some sharpening up to do for sure with many new players this year. We'll get there soon," said Knights Head Coach, Josh Westermann. "Credit to the Linfield team for being a tough team all around. They didn't give us many opportunities to get a rhythm going" he added.
