The Rundown
The hot hand of the Knights from Tuesday's victory over Multnomah seemed to have cooled off for Friday. The team trailed by just three at half, but the second half surge of the Warriors was too much for Warner Pac.
Â
Corban jumped out to a quick lead in the first ten minutes of play, leading the Knights by as many as nine points. The Warriors' offense began to cool off just in time for Warner Pac to heat up.
Â
Fast forward five minutes and the Knights have a 7-0 run, cutting the lead to three with just under five to play in the half. Each team exchanging buckets, the half time buzzer rang and it was a 3-point ball game.
Â
Coming out of the intermission, Corban came out with purpose; beginning the half with a 6-0 run, extending the lead back to double-digits.
Â
When it seemed the game would be dominated by Corban, leading by 15 points with still 12 minutes to play, the Knights wouldn't let up that easy.
The team surged on a 12-0 run to pull within three with 10 minutes left in the ball game. Ultimately, the Warriors had more in their tanks than the Knights, responding with multiple runs themselves and eventually sailing to a domineering 20+ point victory.
Â
The hot hand for the Knights came in the form of a 16 point, seven rebound performance by
Drew Magaoay. Two other Knights scored in double figures;
Isaac Etter finished with 12 while
Kadeem Strickland added 11.
Christian Hodge snagged 10 boards.
Â
The Warriors scoring was captained by Kendall Moore's 22 point performance with the supporting acts of Jordan Newt's 20 points and Isiah Quitero's 17 point, nine rebound night.
Â
Warner Pacific forced 17 Corban turnovers.
