Oakland, Calif. | After a rough start to their final preseason trip of the season yesterday afternoon, the Warner Pacific University Women's Soccer team (1-2) bounced back in a major way, taking down NCAA DIII Mills College (0-3) without a single shot on goal allowed, winning 4-0.
Scoring opportunities did not come lightly in this game for the Knights, as Warner Pacific managed 29 total shots in today's contest, 17 of which were on goal. Knight's goalkeeper
Isabell Bauer picks up her first win of the season behind a steady Knights defense, who only allowed one shot tonight against Bauer.
Scoring early for the Knights was freshman midfielder
Olivia Stumetz, who despite only taking two shots this whole season, managed to connect with this one unassisted for her first ever collegiate goal.
Senior forward
Miki Dart found the back of the goal unassisted for the next Warner Pacific goal. About midway through the second half, Dart became an assisting staple of the WPU offense, where she assisted junior forward
Maddie Goss for her second goal of the season, and then assisting a second time to Goss later in the half, making it 4-0 and effectively putting this game to rest. Senior midfielder
Kaitlin Hirasa also assisted on Goss' second goal of the game.
The Knights will fly home to Portland here soon to begin preparations for the start of Cascade Collegiate Conference play set to begin this weekend, where they will play host to the Eastern Oregon University Mountaineers at 7pm PST this upcoming Friday, and follow up with a 2pm PST kick off against The College of Idaho on Saturday.
