Knights Fall in Hard Fought Game to Pacific Lutheran

PARKLAND, Wash.| The Knights fought hard in their matchup against Pacific Lutheran but ultimately came up short, losing 77-71 in their matchup on Saturday.

Warner Pacific had some strong individual performances against the Lutes, but it wasn't enough to overcome the team effort on the side of Pacific Lutheran. The Lutes had five players in double digit scoring, including two players who had double-doubles. The Lutes also outrebounded the Knights by a margin of 39-33.

Warner Pacific showed plenty of fight all throughout the game. The first half saw the Knights and the Lutes trade leads all throughout. By the end of the half Pacific Lutheran lead 35-30.

Pacific Lutheran jumped out to their biggest lead of the game in the second half, holding a 14-point lead over the Knights. The Knights, however, responded by going on an 18-5 run over a period of five minutes to trim the deficit to one. Warner went on to tie the game up with just under five minutes left to play.

Although they were able to tie up the game, the Knights were unable to gain a lead in the second half. Pacific Lutheran was able to fend off the Knights and hold on for the 77-71 win.

The Knights were led offensively by Isaac Etter who scored 25 points. Not far behind was Thomas Miles who scored 24 points. Miles also grabbed seven rebounds and had five steals. Darius Traylor led the Knights with eight rebounds.

The loss drops the Knights to 1-2 on the season. Men's basketball is back in action on Nov. 15 when they travel to take on Lewis & Clark College at 7:00 p.m.
