PORTLAND, Ore.| The Knights closed out their 2022 campaign with a loss to Oregon Tech on Saturday. The Owls were able to win the match in three sets, 25-21, 25-16, 25-11.Â
The Knights and Owls traded scoring runs in the first set. One of the most competitive sets of the year, the Knights took the Owls to a 20-20 tie. Warner ran out of steam, however, and the Owls took the first set 25-21.Â
The Owls soundly won the second and third sets. Oregon Tech quickly jumped out to leads that the Knights weren't able to erase. Oregon Tech's offensive attack was led by Molly Grace who had 12 kills and a .458 hitting percentage, and Nicole Reyes who had 8 kills.Â
Top performances for the Knights included
Tevlin Britten who again led the team in kills with 13. Sabah Mohammady led the team with 12 digs, and JuJu Williams led the Knights with 21 assists.Â
The loss puts the Knights overall 2022 record at 1-21. This season was the first for volleyball under head coach Kim Lissinna. While it wasn't the record the Knights had hoped for, they got some key contributions from newcomers this season, and will look to build upon that going forward. Â
