Knights Fall in Three Sets to Lions

PORTLAND, Ore.| Warner Pacific volleyball traveled to Multnomah to take on the Lions where they fell in 3 straight sets.

The match was the closest of the season so far for the Knights. Warner was able to stay even with Multnomah for the first part of the opening set. The Lions went on to find a groove and extend their lead to 10 points. Multnomah went on to win the first set 25-16.

The sets got closer throughout the night. The second set saw the Knights get out to an 8-7 lead. Following some back and forth action, the game was tied at 13-13. From there, Multnomah was able to take the lead and hold on. The Knights went on a run towards the end of the set, but it was too little too late, and the Lions held on for the 25-19 set victory.

Multnomah jumped out to an 11-1 lead to open the third set. The Knights showed a lot of resilience and fought back to make cut into the lead and reduce the deficit to 15-11 in favor of the Lions. From there, both teams traded runs and the final set ended up being the closest of the night with the Lions winning 25-22.

Leading the way for the Knights today was Tevlin Britten who had 7 kills and led the team with 10 digs. Elizabeth Reid had 7 digs and led the team with 9 kills on the night.

The loss drops Warner Pacific to 0-5 on the season. The Knights are in action again on Sept. 16 when they travel to La Grande, Ore. to take on Eastern Oregon University.
