PORTLAND, Ore.| Unusually low shooting efficiency haunted the Knights on Friday as they fell to the Beacons.
Warner Pacific men's basketball (12-6) came into Friday night's game against Bushnell (7-11) on a 5-game winning streak, earning themselves the third-place spot in the conference.
The first half saw Warner miss shots and commit turnovers that were uncharacteristic of the team up to this point in the season. Despite getting good looks throughout the game, the shots weren't falling and the Knights were held to a season low in shooting percentage. Bushnell was able to capitalize and by the end of the half the Knights were down 31-23.
The second half began with the Knights closing the gap to 6 points, before ultimately falling behind by a game high 17. Thomas Miles returned to the game and scored 6 straight. In spite of their best efforts, the deficit remained too large for the Knights, and the closest they came was within 10 points. The game finished with a final score of 68-52.
The Knights were led by Thomas Miles who scored 19 points and had five rebounds. Dakota Reber also had 14 points and 4 rebounds on the night.
This loss snaps a 5 game win streak and moves Warner into a tie for third with Corban. Consequently, the Knights are in action against Corban on Saturday Jan. 21 at 5 P.M. In what looks to be a thrilling matchup, Warner will look to bounce back and continue to build momentum toward the postseason.
