ASHLAND, Ore.| The Knights came up short in their matchup against Southern Oregon on Friday, falling to the Raiders by a score of 83-70.
Warner Pacific Men's Basketball (13-7) traveled to Ashland to take on the Raiders of Southern Oregon University (13-8) in what would end up being a difficult outing for the Knights.
The first half was tightly contested and saw seven lead changes with the Knights going up by four points early on. That lead would prove to not be enough, as Warner found themselves heading into halftime down seven.
Southern Oregon built on their momentum in the second half. The Knights were unable to conjure up much success to make a comeback playing in a tough away venue. When all was said and done, the Raiders came away with the victory by a score of 83-70.
Despite the loss there were still many bright spots throughout the game. Junior G Thomas Miles continued his impressive scoring season with 19 points to go along with seven boards. Warner Pacific also outscored the Raiders in bench points 17-9, led by Maxwell Moses who scored nine points on 50% shooting.
The loss puts Warner at 13-7 on the year. The Knights still remain third place in the conference, and they look to hold on to that spot as they travel to Klamath Falls to play Oregon Tech (10—11) on Saturday, Jan. 28th at 5 P.M.
