Knights Softball Drops Opening Series Against Northwest

KIRKLAND, Wash.| Warner Pacific softball dropped their final two games in their opening series against Northwest on Saturday. Falling by a score of 0-12, and 2-6.

The Knights (0-4, 0-4) came into today looking to even up the series against Northwest (9-6, 4-0) after having dropped both contests on Friday.

GAME 1
Northwest ran away with the first game against the Knights, defeating Warner Pacific in five innings.

Five hits including a homerun gave the Eagles a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Northwest continued their momentum from there, scoring in each inning through the rest of the game. The Eagles finished with 15 hits on the game including two homeruns.

The Knights were held quiet offensively in game one, being limited to just two hits and two walks. Both hits for Warner Pacific came off of the bat of Freshman Marin Bliss, who also stole a base.

When the first game was all said and done Northwest came away with a 12-0 victory over the Knights.

GAME 2
The Eagles jumped out to another early lead in game two, going up 3-0 thanks to a two run RBI double in the first and a solo shot in the second inning. The Knights responded in the top of the fourth with a two run homerun from Emma Foster to reduce Northwest's lead to 3-2.

The game would stay 3-2 until Northwest was able to tack on three more runs in the bottom of the fifth to make it 6-2.

Despite getting more hits in the game than the Eagles, the Knights were unable to string it together and generate more runs. Northwest's lead held and the Eagles took the final game of the series by a score of 6-2.

The Knights had 8 total hits on the game, led by Emma Foster who went 3-3 with a two run homerun. Jordyn Rosario also had a multi-hit game, going 2-4 on the afternoon.

The losses put the Knights at 0-4 to start the season. Warner Pacific softball is back in action when they play their home opener on Mar. 3 against Carroll College.
