Wilsonville, Ore.-
After having to change venues twice throughout the week as well as two date changes, Warner Pacific was finally able to play the first doubleheader in their series against the College of Idaho today in front of a chilled crowd on the campus of Wilsonville High School. The Knights lost game one to the College of Idaho by a final score of 12-3 in five innings.Â
The Knights were only able to get 4 hits on the day while College of Idaho was able to double that and get 8 of their own. College of Idaho pitching dazzled on the day. Starter, Lena Zahniser, only pitched two innings but they were two productive innings giving up no runs on just one hit allowed. She walked a couple batters though which spurred a pitching change. Hannah McNerney finished the last 3 innings of the game only allowing three hits and three runs while walking two of her own.
Warner scored their runs all in the fourth inning.
Ashley Hawkins led the team in RBI's with two when she doubled into the gap in left field scoring
Christina Barrett and
Jovita Laloulu.
Sammie Brauckmiller then plated the last run of the day when she hit a beauty up the middle into center field for a base hit bringing in Hawkins.
Jordyn Rosario and
Christina Barrett were the other two Knights that picked up hits on the day.
