Warner Gets Swept in Wilsonville

Wilsonville, Ore-
The College of Idaho finished their sweep today of the Warner Pacific Knights winning both games of today's doubleheader by final scores of 14-0 and 10-0 respectively behind the backs of two complete game shutouts by the College of Idaho pitchers.

Game 1
Warner Pacific struggled again today giving up a lot of runs including an 8 run fourth inning. College of Idaho pitcher, Hannah McNerney pitched a complete game shutout, only giving up two hits while striking out seven. The Yotes were able to once again have an efficient day offensively getting their 14 runs on 15 hits. Haley Loffer led the way with three hits, driving in two and also drawing a walk along the way. All but three Yotes earned at least one hit today with five having multiple.

The Knights had two hits. Jordyn Rosario hit a solid single to left field in the first inning that had some solid exit velocity and Marin Bliss hit a single to left in the second. It was a rough day for Knights pitching staff as well. Sammie Brauckmiller started the game and only made it through 1 and 1/3rd innings giving up 5 hits and 4 runs all earned. Abby Carlson came in to pitch the remainder of the game giving up 10 runs on 10 hits. Only 6 of those runs were charged to Carlson due to a plethora of errors and miscues by the Knights defense. Abby Carlson did show some true grit though late in the game when she took a screaming line-drive off of her already injured left leg causing a brief delay as she composed herself on the mound. After Athletic Trainer, Brandon Riedel, and head coach, Ashton Porter, checked Carlson out and determined her to be "ok," she continued and was able to get out the inning.

Game 2
The Knights once again struggled to put anything together offensively while the Yotes continued to hit the cover off the ball. The Yotes once again knocked around 15 hits. Madelyn Powell led the way with three hits, driving in five RBI's.

Yotes pitcher, Grace Neer, had a sensational game picking up a no-hit complete game to add to her resume. She gave up no hits while only walking three.

The Knights pitching staff once again struggled. Jovita Laloulu started the game only going 1 and 1/3rd innings before being pulled. Abby Carlson, who had a scary play in the first game with a line drive being taken off her left leg, pitched the rest of the game.

Next Up
The Knights will have a quick turnaround before taking on Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton Oregon on Tuesday, March 28th for a two game non-conference series. Then on Wednesday, March 29th, the Knights will play Lewis-Clark College in another two game non-conference series. They will resume conference play next weekend against the University of British Columbia for a four-game set.
