Knights Fall to the Eagles in Kirkland

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 29th, 2023
 
Kirkland, WA | The Knights lost today to the Eagles of Northwest University by a final result of 1-0.
 
The Knights were outshot by the Eagles 17-4 in total shots and 7-4 in shots on goal. The only goal of the game was an own goal that favored the Eagles in the 59th minute. Knights goalkeeper, Litzy Gonzalez, had six saves and let the one goal in late. Eagles goalkeeper, Ella Wilson, had four saves on the day.
 
"We worked hard today and played a solid game," Head Coach, Justan Wolvert said. "We trusted each other and held a strong belief throughout. An unlucky deflection was the difference in the game. We showed an improvement from the last game and have some positives to build off for tomorrows match."
 
Kaitlin Hirasa, Maddie Goss, Ellie Johnson, and Kiya Gramps each had one shot on goal.
 
The Knights fall to 3-6-1 overall and 0-4-1 in conference play.
 
Next Up
The Knights will take the 50-minute drive south on I5 to Olympia, Washington to take on the Geoducks of Evergreen State College tomorrow at 12:30pm.
