Knights Bounce Back in Redding, California

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 3rd, 2023

Redding, CA. | The Warner Pacific Women's Soccer team bounced back today against Simpson University down in Redding, California.

The Knights rebounded after yesterday's loss with a satisfying 2-1 result against the Red Hawks.

If someone went to get a popcorn right as the game started, they would've missed the first goal of the game because it came in the blink of an eye. It was scored by Brin Wolvert in the 3rd minute for her second goal of the season. Her first goal of the year came about 24 hours ago in the Knights game yesterday afternoon against William Jessup University.

The final goal of the game was scored by the reliable, Shalece Easley, for her third goal of the season. She's a Clark College junior transfer who is in her first year as a Knight and has had a great start with her new team.

Head Coach, Justan Wolvert, is proud of the way his team came back after yesterday's loss. "Great rebound performance today," Wolvert said. "We played a complete game from start to finish. Always tough on the second day of back-to-back but the team showed up and battled today. A positive end to the preseason, looking forward to getting home and preparing for conference play."

The Knights didn't shoot many shots but they ones they did take were on target. They had 6 shots which included 4 shots on goal making two.

Freshman, Litzy Gonzalez, had a great game, only letting one goal in and saving 9 shots. She put a major clamp on the net.

Next Up
The Knights will have over a week off as they get ready for conference play and won't play again until September 15th when they take on Southern Oregon University at 2:30pm at home.
