Knights Successfully Hunt the Wolves Get the Win

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 16th, 2024

College Place, Wash.| The Knights were in south central Washington today playing the Wolves of Walla Walla University and got the much needed victory 99-71.

The Knights made sure that losing 23 in a row wasn't an option in a big way dominating the Walla Walla Wolves in every way today. The Knights started hot shooting 50% from the field in the first half including 9-18 from distance. They built a huge 44-20 lead going into halftime led by Mark Wishom who had 10 first half points on his way to a team leading 18 points. The defense for the Knights in the first half was just as great as the offense clamping down the Wolves to just 24.3% shooting and went only 1-12 from distance.

The Knights this season have come out in the second half a little slow on occasion but today was not going to be adding to that trend. The Knights poured it on building the lead up to its pinnacle which was 39 with 12:33 left in the game. Even with Andrew Vaughan of the Wolves scoring 26 second half points on route to 33 total points, it didn't matter as the Knights continued to pour it on with 55 more points in the second half.

The Knights shot an extremely impressive 17-34 from three-point land tonight with Sean Johnson leading the way going 5-9 from downtown. Josiah Castillo and Mark Wishom poured in 4 more of their own. The Knights tonight were led in scoring by Wishom who finished with 18 points and 4 assists. Sean Johnson with his 5 threes finished with 15 points. Maxwell Moses had a monster game with 14 points, 11 rebound double double. He also had 1 assist. Castillo finished with 12 points; Matt Solomon and Sherman Royal III each finished with 10.
