Knights Fall to 23rd Ranked OIT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 3rd, 2024

Portland, Ore.| Warner Pacific took on 23rd ranked Oregon Tech today in front of a packed house full of Owl fans at CC Perry Gymnasium on Bart Valentine Court and were defeated 111-86.

The Knights played a great first half even though it was clear that the Owls were the better team. The Knights fought hard and kept it within fighting distance at the half down 55-43. The Knights in the first half shot 54.8% from the field including 50% from three going 5-10. Mark Wishom had a great first half shelving 10 points and gathering in 3 boards and 2 assists.

Even though the Knights shot very well in the first half, the Owls somehow shot better going 22-37 from the field good enough for 59.5% hitting 7 threes along the way. Kody Bauman led the way for the Owls with 12 points.

The second half got very exciting thanks to Mark Wishom getting scorching hot from the field. Unfortunately, the Knights defense weren't able to stop trading buckets with the Owls and the Knights were only able to get within 7 with 18:21 left in the contest. From there, the Owls showed why they're ranked as high as they are and pulled away hitting a barrage of three pointers. They finished the game 14-24 from three good enough for 58.3% from distance. The Owls were led by Erik Fraser who had 20 points. Jackson Cooper had a double double for the Owls earning 11 points and 13 rebounds.

The Knights were led by Mark Wishom who finished with 23 points shooting a lights out 9-11 from the field including 4-4 from deep. Moses Maxwell had 18 points to help the Knights and Matt Solomon had 16 to round out the Knights that hit double figures.

The Knights are 2-20 overall and 0-16 in conference play.
