Knights Fall in a Hard Fought Battle to 18th Ranked OUAZ

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – August 28th, 2024

Portland, Ore.| The Knights played the 18th ranked Spirit of OUAZ during a beautiful sunset and lost by a final score of 2-0.

The Knights weren't able to get much going on offensively but defensively, they fought hard and gave themselves a chance to make a game of it. Unfortunately, it just didn't pan out. Kate Pomerinke had a great game even though she did let in two goals. She had 8 huge saves and never quit fighting for her team. The Knights were out-shot 11-0 overall and 10-0 on shots on goal.

"We fought hard today but didn't reward ourselves in the attack for the work we put in defensively," Head Coach, Justan Wolvert said. "We needed to be a little sharper in possession and more connected defensively between our lines but in the end, we learned more about who we are and the areas in which we need to improve. Our work rate and toughness has been consistent through our first three games which is great to see."
