Knights Fall to Local Lewis & Clark College

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - April 15th, 2025

Portland, Ore.| The Warner Pacific Knights baseball team saw their losing streak arrive at 16 games losing this time to NCAA DIII Lewis & Clark College by a final score of 11-2.

The Knights fought hard today despite some key players missing from the lineup. Freshman Brady Windham got the ball to start the game for the Knights and put himself in a tough spot early with the bases loaded. Windham was able to walk the tight rope however and keep the Pioneers off the board with some careful craftsmanship. Windham ended up going six innings only giving up two runs both earned. It was a great outing for the young man.

The Knights held the Pioneers offense in check when it came to runs until the seventh inning. The Pioneers scored a run in the first and a run in the sixth to take a 2-0 lead going into the seventh. Things unraveled in the seventh inning as the Pioneers scored four runs in the seventh and then followed that up with five in the eighth. The Knights did score a couple of runs late in the game. Mason Deverna had the lone RBI when he smacked a double down the right field line scoring Liam Gwyn from third. The other run for the Knights came earlier in the inning when Gwyn reached first on a throwing error which allowed Ashkon Rafahi-Shirpak to scamper home.

The Knights were held to just six hits in the ballgame.
