Portland, Ore.| Warner Pacific Knights Baseball swept day one of a four game set against the Yotes of College of Idaho.Â

Game one
In game one, the Yotes drew first blood, scoring one in the top of the first. However, the Knights responded quickly with four of their own in the first, three in the third, two in the fourth, and one in the fifth. The scoring was then quiet for a bit before the Yotes added a late eighth inning three spot, but once again the Knights responded with two of their own.Â
On the mound Ayden Yaeger threw a fantastic game going eight innings with two strikeouts. Mitchell Thoma-Britt came in at the end to close the door as he went one inning with one strike out and no runs.Offensively, Alex Nisbit had a day with four hits, a home run, a double, and six RBI's. Mason Deverna followed him up with two hits, a home run, and two RBI's.
Game two
In game two the Knights went down by two in the top of the second but were able to respond with two of their own not only in the second but the third as well. Then with another run in the fifth, the Knights led 5-2 for the majority of the game. In the top of the ninth, the Yotes found a way to string a few hits together and score two, but it was not enough to catch the Knights.
Offensively, Matthew Revels had three hits with a home run, double, and three RBI's. He was aided by Alex Nisbit who had another two hits one of which was another home run, and the other another double. Nisbit also accounted for the Knights other two RBI's in game two. The offensive push would be nothing without the men on the mound though. Mason Deverna earned his first win as he went seven innings with a career high of nine strikeouts, no walks, and only two runs allowed. Shawn Hunt earned the rare six out save as he went two innings with one punch out.Â
