Knights Play Well But Fall Short Against Providence

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 28th, 2025

Portland, OR.| In today's match, the Warner Pacific Women's Soccer team took on the University of Providence and fell short 1-0.

In a low-scoring game, the Knights were solid all the way around. They led on offense and defense, stopping all attacks before they were able to develop, only allowing four shots on goal through the whole game. One of these shots would go through off the boot of Holly st. Germain in the 86th minute which ended up being the game-winning goal for the Argos.

The Knights this evening had a somewhat impressive day on offense as they were peppering the net with a total of 14 shots on goal, but just couldn't get one by Jennifer Alvillar who was in the right spot every time. Litzy Gonzalez led the team in shots with 4, followed by Kiya Gramps with 3. Off the bench, Victoria Mexicano made the most of her 18 minutes with 2 shots on goal.
