Knights Take Loss to Linfield

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 5th, 2025

McMinnville, Ore.| The Warner Pacific Knights Women's Soccer team played a game tonight against Linfield University under the lights and lost by a final score of 5-2.

The Knights got the scoring started in the 15th minute with a goal put in by Kiya Gramps assisted by Eileen Reyna. It was Gramps' second goal of the young season and Reyna's first assist of the year. Linfield didn't waste much time getting that goal back though scoring just a couple minutes later in the 17th minute on a goal sent to the back of the net by Lena Caballero Uhtoff. The score at the half was all knotted up at one apiece.

The Wildcats came out of halftime with their tails on fire, scoring two more goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half giving them a 3-1 lead. After three unanswered goals, the Knights showed some fight with a goal shot in from Gema Granados which was her first of the year and second as a Knights going back to last year. The Wildcats then put the game out of reach, scoring two more goals in the 74th and 82nd minutes, pushing the score to 5-2 which ended up being the final result when the horn sounded.

The Knights only had four total shots in which all of them were shot on goal. Linfield on the other hand had 18 total shots peppering Knights goalkeepers with 13 shots on goal. Javanae Jones got the start in goal for the Knights, and she gave up a goal and saved four shots. Kate Pomerinke played the entire second half giving up four goals and saving four Wildcat shots. Linfield's goalkeeper, Alexa Fritz played the full game, giving up the two goals and saving two shots.
