Kylie Warner Scores First Collegiate Goal in Loss to Bearcats

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 7th, 2025

Salem, Ore.| The Warner Pacific Women's Soccer team battled against the Bearcats of Willamette University this afternoon and lost by a final score of 3-2.

Today's game started with a bang as the Bearcats scored just 28 second into the contest on a ball crossed to the middle by Seirra Brown and tapped in by Clair Warthen about two years out from the goal. Credit the Knights for not being shellshocked. They fought back quickly and got back that goal just two minutes later. It started with a long pass from Jasmine Bates to Kiya Gramps who then was able to beat her defender one on one and shoot it past the goalkeeper. It was Gramps' third goal already this season in just the fourth game. It was Bates' first assist of the season.

The Bearcats got the lead back just out of halftime in the 48th minute and then played add on in the 77th minute to push the lead to 3-1. The Knights did get one of those goals back when true freshman, Kylie Warner earned her first ever collegiate goal. Emily Robinett was credited with her first assist of the year for the junior transfer from Battle Ground, Washington.

The Knights had ten total shots including seven on goal. Willamette peppered the goal with 14 shots shooting 21 total shots. Kate Pomerinke got the start in goal and for the first time this season played the full 90 minutes. Pomerinke allowed three goals for the Bearcats and saved 11 shots. The Bearcats played two keepers today. Siera Edwards got the start and played 81 minutes giving up one goal and saving 4 shots. Sabella Pisicoli finished out the final 9 minutes giving up the one goal to Kylie Warner and saved a shot.
