FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – October 18, 2026

Porltand, Ore.| The Warner Pacific University men's soccer team delivered an explosive offensive performance Sunday afternoon, overwhelming Northwest University in a 9-1 victory.

The Knights set an aggressive tone from the start, relentlessly attacking the Northwest defense while outshooting the Eagles 14-3 in the opening half. Lewis Rumrey put Warner Pacific on the board in the 17th minute, finishing a setup from Julio Andrade for the match's opening goal.

Luis Gonzalez doubled the advantage in the 32nd minute off a pass from Alfredo Jimenez, sending the Knights into halftime with a 2-0 lead. The floodgates opened in the second half as Warner Pacific continued to apply pressure, generating 20 shots over the final 45 minutes. Jimenez quickly extended the lead to 3-0 in the 49th minute off an assist from Mario Jauregui-Vallarta, before Jose Robles added an unassisted goal in the 54th minute.
Andrade joined the scoring in the 59th minute with an unassisted goal of his own, pushing Warner Pacific's advantage to 5-0.

Northwest got on the board in the 67th minute following a Warner Pacific own goal, but the Knights responded immediately and closed the match with four unanswered goals.
Tyler Everett found the back of the net in the 68th minute before Felix Mendoza and Bryan Martinez each scored in the 79th and 87th minutes. Jared Iranshad put the finishing touches on the offensive outburst with a goal in the 89th minute to secure the 9-1 final.

Warner Pacific dominated the offensive numbers throughout the afternoon, outshooting Northwest 34-5 overall and putting 13 shots on goal compared to four for the Eagles. The Knights also generated six corner kicks while limiting Northwest to just two. In goal, Owen Purvis started and played nearly 78 minutes for Warner Pacific, recording three saves as the Knights secured a commanding conference victory. Jonathan Flores came in late and finished out the game in goal giving Purvis some much earned rest.

Following the win, Warner Pacific head coach Troy Ready praised the way his team represented the program and highlighted the contributions throughout the Knights' lineup.
"I told the team at halftime that our first half was the best representation of what Warner Pacific soccer is all about. Defensively, energetic, free, and dynamic in our attack. It was a joy to watch them all perform and it put a smile on my face seeing nine different players with goals. Of particular delight was watching Tyler Everett and Jared Iranshad on the scoresheet. Among others, these are two players that have meant so much to the culture of our program over the years. We have a clear understanding of what we want to achieve in the final four conference matches and are all in on getting it done," Ready said.
