FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 15th, 2026
Newberg, Ore.| The Warner Pacific Softball team hit the road once again and faced off against George Fox University in a non-conference double-header and went on to lose both games by final scores of 6-5 and 10-4.
Game one
George Fox struck first with a four-run second inning and added two more in the third to take control. Warner Pacific chipped away scoring one run in each of the third and fourth and then started stringing together a strong comeback in the seventh with three runs but the comeback fell just short as the Bruins pitching ended the comeback.
Warner Pacific's offense was led by
Ryleah Torres, who delivered a huge performance with four hits, two RBIs, and a run scored.
Giselle Beriault added a homer and an RBI.
Kili Makanani also drove in a run to help with the late rally. In the circle, Makanani worked all six innings, striking out six while keeping the Knights within reach despite the early deficit. Overall a great game for the Knights on both sides of the field.
Game Two
George Fox opened with a run in the first, but Warner Pacific answered quickly with two runs in the second. The Bruins answered immediately with a three-run second and continued to add on with a run in the third. The Bruins would score twice in the fourth and the Knights began to get something going in the top of the fifth but the Bruins quickly shut that down scoring two in the bottom of the fifth and finished it off with a run in the sixth.
For Warner Pacific,
Skylar Groesbeck,
Eliana Ulafale, and Megan Fritz all had one RBI while
Noe Barawis collected two hits to lead the Knights at the plate. In the circle,
Kaylee Pokorny handled the first 3.2 innings before
Alex Brooks finished the game in relief. Pokornoy would go 3.2 innings with 7 runs, two walks, and a strikeout. Brooks went 2.1 innings with 3 earned runs.
