FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – March 14th, 2026
Milwaukie, Ore.| Warner Pacific Knights Baseball played their last two games against Eastern Oregon today and lost game one but won game two. Eastern Oregon took game one 2-0, and the Knights took game two 7-6.
Game One
This game had pitching duel written all over it with both starters going deep in this game. It took just one swing to make the final difference in the contest. It was a two run home run of the bat of Jaxon Logsdon in the second inning which was enough to give EOU the win in this one
Offensively, it was another tough one for the Knights who secured just four hits and struck out ten times.
Mason Deverna would go two for four, along with
Colin Schiller and Alex Nesbit each with a hit. On the bump, it was another impressive outing by
Donny Tober keeping the Knights in it all the way to the end. Tober went eight innings striking out ten Mountaineer batters and gave up two earned runs. Despite this elite pitching, Tober and the Knights took the loss.
Game Two
This contest was a more action-packed game that included a big bang at the end. It would start quietly with a single run in the top of the first to get it started for EOU. It would be until the top of the seventh when EOU would score four runs on some defensive miscues and clutch situational hitting to drive the runs in. This time though the Knights would answer big scoring three runs on an error to draw them closer 5-3. EOU would once again score in the top of the eighth with a run. To the Knights' credit, they continued to fight back, drawing closer by scoring two runs in the bottom half of the inning. The game all came down to the bottom of the ninth with two outs and runner on second with the Knights down 6-5. Conner Hale would be the hero hitting a home run to deep left field to walk it off and give the Knights a much-needed win.
Offensively, The Knights almost doubled their hitting from the first game of the day with seven hits and cut down on the strikeouts to a total of six. Hale would lead the team with two RBIs on one massive hit.
Trenten Lowe would go two for four on the day leading in hits, along with
Hayden Mirante in his first game back from injured reserve going one for four with an RBI.
Donny Tober would also mash for a hit and an RBI.
