Vancouver, B.C.| Warner Pacific Knights Baseball finished their four game series against The University of British Columbia. The Knights would lose both to by final scores of 11-1 and 4-1.
Game Three
Warner Pacific would start the day off right getting multiple hitters on base and scoring a run in the first. It would be in the bottom of the third when UBC would get it going scoring two runs taking the lead. With no response from the Knights, UBC would tack on runs. Scoring two in the fifth, and exploding in the seventh for six runs. UBC would score in the eighth to mercy the Knights.
Offense was hard to come by in this game for the Knights getting only five hits throughout this one making it difficult to get anything going. Their leader for this game would be Mitchell Thoma Britt going two for four with the Knights only run. On the mound despite this game being a blowout the pitching staff would hold it down for majority of the game to give the offense a chance. Jaxon Hamada would start this one going four innings with four runs, two earned. Kaden Hindman would throw an inning with two earned runs. Jacob Quinlan would pitch an inning and allow two earned runs with four runs. Finally Aaron Newton would allow a run.
Game Four
This game had less scoring than the first, a close game all the way to the end. UBC would start this game with a run in the first, and would take advantage in the second on defensive miscues and wild pitches scoring three runs. The Knights would hold the to four runs through the rest of the game. The Knights offense couldn't take advantage of this only scoring one run in the top of the fourth. The scoring would end their for both sides giving UBC the sweep.
Offensively, the Knights were held to five hits. Two of those hits came off the bat of Hayden Mirante. The big hit for the Knights was a RBI double from Donny Tober. Anthony Zisa would also have a double in this game. On the mound, it was a real strong performance from both pitchers. Getting the start, Mason Deverona would pitch 6.1 innings, four runs, two earned, with five strikeouts. Hank Kern would pitch 1.2 innings with no runs allowed.
Next Up
The Knights will be back home next week and host Oregon Tech in a four game series. The first two games will be played at Ron Tonkin Field. These two games will be on Friday with first pitch at 11am.
