Knights Get Swept By UBC

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – March 8th, 2026

Milwaukie, Ore.| Warner Pacific Knights Baseball finished their series against the University of British Columbia and lost both games by final scores of 8-1 and 11-1.

Game Three
The Knights were held to just three hits. Connor Hale, Donny Tober, and Ryland Detzler were the ones that checked in with hits for the Knights in this contest. The lone run for the Knights was driven in by Tober who singled to centerfield scoring Trent Lowe from third. The Thunderbirds had 11 hits in the game with three hitters having more than one hit in the game. The Knights were in this game despite lack of offensive output and were down just 3-1 going into the ninth inning. The Thunderbirds made up for lost time though scoring five runs burying the Knights before WPU had a chance to make a comeback in their half of the ninth.

Game Four
The Knights in game four got a spark early as Eiji Sato hit his first home run as a Knight. It was a no doubter to left field putting the Knights in the lead for the first time all series. The lead and good vibes didn't last long though as the Thunderbirds would go on a tear scoring 11 unanswered runs from the second inning on. The game ended early in the seventh inning via mercy rule when Braeden Scott hit a walk-off RBI single putting an end to the game and the series.

The Knights in this game had one more hit than the first game of the day with four. Eiji Sato had the big hit with the home run. Landen Sigler, Brooks Frere, and Colby Barnes had the other three hits for the WarnerPac.

Next Up
The Knights will enjoy a week of practice and preparation for next week's contests which will once again be at home against Eastern Oregon University. The Knights are now 1-8 in conference play so this next series will be very important to get a good result.
