Knights Baseball Splits Again With Corban

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – April 19th, 2026

Salem, Ore.| Warner Pacific Baseball played their final two games against Corban today

Game Three
The Knights in game three started slowly giving up three runs in the third and another in the fourth while they themselves were kept off the board by the Warriors. Lucas Mertlich and Isaac Bateman provided the run support for the Warriors with both men hitting home runs. Mertlich's was a three-run shot and Bateman's was a solo job.

In the top of the fifth, the Knights down 4-0 woke up in a big way, scoring six runs. It started with Connor Hale singling through the left side bringing home Cesar Rodriguez. The Captain Mitchell Thoma-Britt continued the rally with a double to right field scoring two more. Mason Deverna checked in next with another double scoring Thoma-Britt. Trent Lowe then landed a huge blow hitting a two-run home run making the score 6-4 in favor of the Knights. The Knights played some add-on in the seventh earning themselves another run going up 7-4.

Jaxon Hamada got the ball for the Knights in this one and pitched a complete nine inning game giving up four earned runs on eight hits. Hamada struck out five Warriors and didn't walk anyone earning the win bringing his record to 2-4 on the season. Robert Haws Jr. earned the loss for the Warriors going 4.1 innings giving up nine hits, five runs, two walks, and two strikeouts.

Game Four
The Knights started scoring a little earlier in this one scoring two runs in the third inning. Haden Mirante got the scoring started hitting a double to left center, bringing home Cesar Rodriguez who had reached first on an error earlier in the inning. Connor Hale continued the momentum hitting a double himself down the left field line scoring Mirante. Unfortunately for the Knights, this was the extent of the scoring in this one. After the Warriors scored four runs in the bottom of the third, taking a 4-2 lead, they never looked back scoring their fifth and final run in the fifth inning.

The Knights only had six hits in this one led by Mirante who finished with two. Hale, Thoma-Britt, Lowe, and catcher Zane Winter each finished with a hit. The Knights didn't have the best approaches at the plate today striking out 13 times and only drawing a singular walk. Warner Pacific left eight men on base. Corban finished with seven hits only striking out six times and walking once. The Warriors were efficient, only leaving two runners on base. Mason Deverna got the start for the Knights fresh off his CCC Pitcher of the Week and didn't fare as well this time around. Deverna went eight innings giving up seven hits and five earned runs. Deverna struck out six batters, walked one, and hit three. Deverna's record falls to 3-6 on the year. Tanner Martinez got the start for the Warriors and went four innings. Joshua Pedronan was determined to be the most productive reliever tonight earning himself the win, moving to 2-1 on the year.

Next Up
The Knights are now 18-28 on the season including 11-22 in conference play. Warner Pacific is seventh out of eight in the CCC standings with four games to play in the season. The Knights will finish the season up in the toughest way possible against Lewis-Clark State College who is ranked sixth in the latest National Poll. This will be a strange series with the first day being just a stand-alone game on the 24th followed by a double-header on the 25th and the fourth and final game being on the 26th. Game one will be at 5pm at famous Harris Field on April 24th. All games will be streamed live on the Urban Edge Network.
