Portland, Ore.| The Warner Pacific Knights men's soccer program is excited to announce the addition of junior transfer Jared Licona for the upcoming season.
A native of Sunnyside, Washington, Licona joins the Knights after a successful soccer career in the Yakima Valley and two years of collegiate experience at Columbia Basin College. His combination of experience, determination, and commitment to personal growth makes him an exciting addition to the Warner Pacific men's soccer program.
Licona attended Sunnyside High School, where he was a four-year member of the soccer program. Throughout his high school career, he developed into a dependable and hardworking player while gaining valuable experience competing against strong competition in one of Washington's most competitive soccer regions.
Following graduation, Licona continued his academic and athletic journey at Columbia Basin College, where he spent the past two years further developing his skills on the field while preparing for the next chapter of his collegiate career. His time at Columbia Basin provided him with valuable experience and maturity that he now brings to Warner Pacific.
Head Coach
Troy Ready believes Licona's experience and versatility will be valuable assets to the Knights.
"Jared comes with collegiate experience and a hunger to put in the work at the next level," Ready said. "His versatility as a player will be a benefit to the team as a whole."
At Warner Pacific, Licona plans to pursue a degree in business while adding a minor in kinesiology. His academic interests reflect a passion for both leadership and athletics, creating a strong foundation for future opportunities both within and beyond the sports world.
Away from soccer, Licona enjoys photography and can often be found capturing moments through his camera lens. His love for taking pictures allows him to express his creativity and document experiences with friends, family, and teammates.
The Knights are thrilled to welcome Licona to the Warner Pacific family and look forward to the energy, experience, and leadership he will bring to the program. As he begins his junior season in Portland, Licona will have the opportunity to make an impact both on the field and in the classroom while representing the Knights with pride.
