Knights Sign Carroll College Transfer

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – July 14th, 2026

Portland, Ore.| The Warner Pacific Knights softball program is excited to announce the addition of senior transfer infielder Jasmine Barela for the upcoming season.

A Beaverton, Oregon native, Barela returns home to continue her collegiate softball career after building an impressive résumé at both the junior college and NAIA levels. She attended Westview High School, where she established herself as one of the top infielders in the state during her prep career.

At Westview, Barela earned All-League honors twice as an infielder and was also recognized as an All-State infielder. Her consistency on both sides of the ball and competitive drive helped distinguish her as one of the premier players in Oregon before moving on to the collegiate ranks.

Following high school, Barela began her collegiate career at Mount Hood Community College, where she enjoyed tremendous success. During her time with the Saints, she helped lead the program to an NWAC Championship while earning All-Tournament Team honors and Second Team All-Region recognition for her outstanding play. She then continued her academic and athletic journey at Carroll College in Helena, Montana, where she competed for one season before deciding to return to her home state.

Head Coach Ashton Porter is excited to welcome Barela back to Oregon and believes her experience and leadership will have an immediate impact on the program.

"We could not be more excited to grab Jasmine for her senior season," Porter said. "She is a great local kid that we have known over the past years in her softball career. She brings multiple strengths to this team, but the biggest is her resilience. Jasmine will step in and immediately be a leader through her words and actions for us this upcoming season."

Now at Warner Pacific, Barela brings championship experience, veteran leadership, and a proven ability to perform in high-pressure situations. As a senior, she is expected to make an immediate impact both on the field and in the clubhouse.
Barela will complete her degree in business administration while competing for the Knights. Her commitment to both academics and athletics reflects the values of Warner Pacific and positions her well for success after graduation.

Away from the softball field, Barela enjoys spending time playing video games and is known among family and friends for being exceptionally skilled. Her competitive spirit extends beyond the diamond, making gaming one of her favorite hobbies.

The Knights are thrilled to welcome Barela back to Oregon and look forward to the experience, leadership, and championship pedigree she will bring to the Warner Pacific softball program. Her accomplishments at every level of competition make her an exciting addition as the Knights continue building for success.
