Nathan Ohta was named Warner Pacific University head softball coach in 2019. Prior to his arrival, Ohta was the head coach for fellow Cascade Collegiate Conference member Corban University for nine seasons before moving on to be an assistant at George Fox University.

Ohta’s first season at the helm of the Knights’ program was abruptly ended due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Despite the season-ending pandemic, five Knight Softball players were named NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

With a career record of 268-183, Ohta’s teams have made six CCC Tournament appearances and two NAIA tournaments.

The native of Mulino, Oregon played basketball at Western Baptist University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in both Mathematics and Mathematics Education before receiving a M.S. in Education with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction from Corban University.

Aside from coaching softball, Nathan enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, hunting and cooking. Ohta is married to his wife Michele and the two have three children; Caleb, Hannah and Sarah, and are expecting a fourth.
