One of the most dynamic playmakers the NAIA has ever seen, Haskins was a four-year letter  winner for Warner Pacific Basketball, accumulating 881 assists from 1981-85. Both his career assist total, assist average (7.2 per game), and steal total (344) remain atop the record book at Warner Pacific College.

Upon graduating, Haskins launched a productive coaching and teaching career in Portland. He worked with Self-Enhancement Incorporated (SEI) from 1988-2001, rising through the ranks to eventually serve as Vice President, calling attention to the importance of gang and drug prevention in our community. From 1999-2008, Haskins was a teacher and coach at Jefferson High School, leading his team to a state championship in 2000. His belief that athletics could be used to encourage youth to stay in school and pursue higher education was supported as Jefferson basketball celebrated many successful seasons. Many of his students continued playing basketball in college, while others gained the confidence needed to continue their education without basketball.

Haskins is dedicated to helping young people succeed through teaching discipline and life skills inherent to athletics. He has committed 25 years to improving the lives of students throughout the Portland area, truly living out the mission of Warner Pacific College and the call to be “in the city, for the city.”
