Lady Knights Undone In Second Half at Oregon Tech

Box Score KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Warner Pacific let a seven point halftime advantage slip away, eventually suffering a 71-62 defeat to Oregon Tech today in Cascade Conference play.

The visiting Knights (13-9, 8-4 CCC) looked in control in the first period, hitting 48 percent of their field goal attempts while holding the host Owls to 40 percent including just 2 of 12 from three point range. The Knights led by as many as nine before settling for a 35-28 lead at the break. Morgan Wolff had 11 points at the half to lead WPC.

Oregon Tech (16-7, 9-4 CCC) scored the first eight points of the second half to erase the WP advantage, however. Nicole Aboumrad made a trey at the 15:52 mark to make the socre 42-41 and put OIT in the lead for good. The Owls led by as many as nine points thanks to improved accuracy from behind the arc, making 5 of 10 tries from distance in the second period. The Knights made a charge, cutting the gap to three points with 2:10 showing on the clock thanks to a Wolff thee point goal, but OIT made 9 of 10 attempts from the free throw line down the stretch to secure the win.

Woff finished with 19 points to lead Warner Pacific, while Tori Carroll added 14. Nicole Jackson contributed nine points and 10 assists.

Oregon Tech was led by Karissa Dixon with a game high 24 points on 9 of 14 shooting.
