LANGLEY, British Columbia – The visiting Warner Pacific Knights overcame a 10 point first half deficit to defeat the Trinity Western Spartans 73-67 Friday afternoon at the David E. Enarson Gym on the campus of TWU in Langley, B.C.
The Spartans had a strong first half as they finished the opening 20 minutes with a 2 point, 40-38, lead. TWU had led by 10 points, 25-15, at the end of the first quarter. The Spartans shot 57.7 percent, 15-26, from the field in the first half, while the Knights shot 44.1 percent, 15-34.
The Knights rallied in the second half as they outscored the Spartans 35-27 in the final 20 minutes to take the game 73-67. Jacki Cannon led WPC with 14 points on 7 of 16 shooting. Janelle Weiss added 13 points and five assists, while Jordan Wilcox scored 12 including four makes from behind the arc. All 10 Knights that saw action scored points.
Warner Pacific will take on University of Victoria tomorrow afternoon before heading back to Portland.
