PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific put forth a spirited effort, but fell in three close sets to College of Idaho in Cascade Conference action today inside C.C. Perry Gym.

• Score: College of Idaho 3, Warner Pacific 0 (30-28, 25-21, 28-26)
• Records: C of I (13-10, 10-4 CCC), WPC (5-15, 3-12 CCC)
• Location: C.C. Perry Gym, Portland, Ore.
• The Short Story:  The host Knights sought to atone for a lackluster effort on Friday and their sprited play gave College of Idaho a strong challenge. The Yotes were up to the task however, and earned the sweep in three hard fought sets. C of I were more efficient on the attack (.298 to .217) which proved to be the difference. After the result, the Yotes remain entrenched at 4th in the CCC standings  

How It Happened

• The first set was a slugfest, with 11 lead changes and 20 tie scores.
• The Knights served for set point on two occasions (25-24, and 28-27), but could not close out the frame.
• C of I scored three consecutive points to claim the win, two of which came by blocks at the net.
• The middle set was all square at 18-18, but an Emily Ottinger kill, a Knight hitting error, and a Sierra Porter ace gave the Lady Yotes the lead for good.
• The Knights scored a quick three points late in set three -  including two kills from Janessa White - to take a 24-23 lead.
• Another kill from white gave WPC set point at 26-25, but a service error and two attacking errors by the Knights gave the match to C of I.

Notable

• Janessa White put down seven of her match hight 17 kills in set one.
• Kelsey Merritt recorded double digit digs (18) for the 6th straight match.
• Marchelle Bostic contributed a match high 43 assists.
