The Short Story: Warner Pacific conceded two goals in the second period, dropping a 2-0 decision to Northwest in Cascade Conference play tonight. The contest was the first ever for the Knights at the new facility they will call home. WPC enjoyed a 17-9 advantage in shots, but could not take advantage of several good chances.Â
How it Happened• The two sides played toe-to-toe during a scoreless first half.• WP keeper Joe White turned aside a quality chance from NU's Todd Siedenburg in the 18th minute, and the rebound shot was cleared off the line by the Knight defense.• Geovanny Vazquez had the best look for WP, but his angled drive in the 43rd minute went just wide left.
• The second half saw Warner Pacific with much of the possession, but with few answers for a compact NU back line.
• Odason Pelogi pounced on a defensive miscue, and slotted home his shot at the 66:52 mark to put the Eagles in the lead.• The insurance goal for NU came in 76th minute, as Branson Corwin tapped in a rolling cross from Taylor Young.
• Pushing forward in an attempt to rally, the Knights managed three shots at goal including an enticing look by Nick Hansen that was batted away by NU keeper Daniel Christensen.Â
