ASHLAND, Ore. - The Warner Pacific men's wrestling team faced two highly ranked squads from Southern Oregon and Montana State-Northern today inside Reihm Arena, coming away with two losses during the dual competition.
With no wrestlers available at the 174, 197, and 285 weights, the Knights were shorthanded from the start. "With no scoring chances in three weights against the #2 and #3 teams in the country, you find yourself really in a bind," said coach
Frank Johnson. "Still, I am pleased with the way we competed. We took some lumps on the mat but managed to win a few as well."
Amari Sengsavanh won both of his bouts - by decision over Brenton Beard of MSUN, and by fall over Francis Llorente of SOU.
Joshua Crager and
Jawayne Fambrough also scored wins for WPC versus opponents from MSUN.Â
