LA GRANDE, Ore.| Warner Pacific men's wrestling opened their season by traveling to La Grande to participate in the Mountaineer Open hosted by Eastern Oregon where the Knights had two wrestlers earn top-three finishes.

Ian Vasquez represented the Knights in the 197 pound division where he went 3-1 en route to a third place finish. In his first match, Vasquez got a fall over Seth Brown from Grays Harbor. After coming up short in a decision against Corban's Tyler Moore, Vasquez earned a major decision over Ryan Debevec from Grays Harbor before getting a decision victory over Washington State's Rogan Kopper to earn a third place finish.

In the 133 pound division David Campbell went 3-1 and advanced to the finals. Campbell earned victories by technical fall and decision to advance to the semifinals agasint Kaden Kuenzi of Oregon State. Campbell moved on to the finals after Kuenzi sustained an injury. Campbell would take his only loss in the finals in a narrow decision against Bo Davis of Corban.

After a strong showing, Knights wrestling will be in action next on November 13th as part of the Mike Clock Open.
