Wilcox, Loe Pace Knights in Double Overtime Win Over CU

PORTLAND, Ore – Behind 21 points from Jordan Wilcox and 19 points from Lindsay Loe, the Warner Pacific women outlasted cross-town rival Concordia University 72-69 in double overtime Friday night at Cavalier Gymnasium.

Warner Pacific (7-7, 1-2 CC) escaped with its first conference win when Sierra Dean's last-second shot fell short, handing No. 24-ranked Concordia (7-4, 2-1) its first CCC defeat. The Knights outscored the Cavaliers 10 to 7 in the second overtime period.

Concordia had to scramble to tie the game late in regulation, knotting the contest at 56-all on a 3-pointer by Lexi Campbell with 28 seconds remaining. After a Warner Pacific turnover the Cavaliers had a chance to win, but were unable to get a shot off against the Knights' defense.

Warner Pacific jumped out to a 61-56 lead in the first overtime, but Concordia quickly rallied for a short-lived one-point lead before the Knights tied things up again at 62 on a free throw by Lindsay Loe. With 1:07 remaining, Loe missed her second attempt at the line and each team missed a chance for the go-ahead bucket to send the game to a second overtime.

At a 66-66 standstill midway through the second extra session, Loe and Kasara Brenenburg gave the Knights the lead for good with back-to-back baskets.

McKenna Daly hit a corner 3-pointer with 1:25 left on the clock to pull the Cavs to within a point, 70-69, but Loe stepped up again in the final seconds, this time converting a pair of free throws to help clinch the road win.

Kyeli Hendryx posted her first career double-double for the Knights with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
